Jamie Nanez comes to Collin College after success in playing and coaching at the club/academy and collegiate levels. He has been the head tennis pro at Wagon Wheel Tennis Center in Coppell since 2015.
Before coaching at Wagon Wheel, Nanez served as the assistant men's and women's tennis coach at Ferris State University from 2013 to 2015. During that time, Ferris State players earned numerous awards, including: six All GLIAC players, one Player of the Year, one Rookie of the Year, seven Scholar-Athlete Awards, one Top 25 nationally-ranked singles player, three Top 15 Regionally ranked players, and were two-time NCAA regional qualifiers. In 2014, the entire incoming class of Ferris State men's team was recognized by TennisRecruiting.net. The Ferris State University, men's and women's tennis programs both ranked among the top academic squads in the nation in 2014.
As a player, he was a walk-on at Collin College from 2004-to 2006 and received his Associate of Science degree. He went on to play at Southeastern Oklahoma State University and received his Bachelor of Science in Recreation and minor in Occupational Safety.
