Jamie Nanez comes to Collin College after collegiate success as a player and then coaching at both the academy and collegiate levels. He was the Head Tennis Pro at Wagon Wheel Tennis Center in Coppell from 2015 - 2022.

Before coaching at Wagon Wheel, Nanez served as the Assistant Men's and Women's tennis coach at Ferris State University from 2013 to 2015. During that time, Ferris State players earned numerous awards, including: six All GLIAC players, one Player of the Year, one Rookie of the Year, seven Scholar-Athlete Awards, one Top 25 nationally-ranked singles player, three Top 15 Regionally ranked players, and were two-time NCAA regional qualifiers. In 2014, the entire incoming class of Ferris State men's team was recognized by TennisRecruiting.net. Ferris State University Men's and Women's tennis programs both ranked among the top academic squads in the nation in 2014.

As a player, he was a walk-on at Collin College from 2004-to 2006 and received his Associate of Science degree. He went on to play at Southeastern Oklahoma State University.  In Dec 2008, Coach Nanez received his Bachelor of Science in Recreation with minor in Occupational Safety.  In May 2024, Coach Nanez recieved a Master's of Science in Sports Administration with an specialization in Sports Studies.  His wife Jill, daughter Jovie, and German Shepherd Roger (named after the great Roger Federer) reside in Lake Dallas, Tx.
