Collin College Men's Basketball wrapped up its 2024-25 season in early March with a 15-15 overall record. The team is looking ahead to next year.

The Cougars lost their last four games – a 75-70 road loss to Hill College, a 77-59 home loss to McLennan Community College, a tight 81-79 game against Southwestern Christian College, and an 88-80 closer against Grayson College.

Sigona said the effort was there, but tough competition and injuries took their toll down the stretch. Garrett Falls, who scored 15.8 points per game for the season, was out with an injury for each of the last four games, taking one weapon out of the Cougars' arsenal.

"We didn't achieve what we wanted to – trying to win a conference championship – but it wasn't because of a lack of effort," Sigona said after the season. "I thought the guys played hard and we were in games. Unfortunately, we came up short."

The team started off strong, winning 10 of its non-conference games and tuning up for what turned out to be a tough conference schedule. Sigona said the team had several players step up in different games and that he saw improvement in the guys throughout the year.

Vinny Sigona led the team in points per game with 16.5. He was followed by Falls and then freshman David Emelife with 11.9. Falls also led in steals with 1.5 per game and matched Emelife with 0.4 blocks per game.

Overall, the team scored an average of 78.9 points per game, shooting 42.8% from the field and 32.2% from beyond the arc. That is not a bad position to be in when considering many of the players could return in Fall 2025.

"I think that the guys who are returning will learn from this year," Coach Sigona said. "Every year is a new team. We hope to have a good recruiting class and put together a great team for next year."
